2Teck’s Plumbing & Heating Division had the privilege of being involved in the refurbishment / extension at Montagu Arms Hotel, New Forest. Existing garages and work shops were transformed into 5 brand new hotel suites as well as a new build named the “Cottages”, holding an additional 4 hotel suites and a mechanical plant room which houses all plant and equipment needed to accommodate for the hotel suites requirements.

We started the project with connecting into the existing boosted cold water services within the main plant room and running a Protectaline boosted cold water service over to the new plant room on the cottages. This plant room was where we situated the Mitsubishi Heavy Q-ton ASHP which was installed by our MHI Module 3 Q-ton qualified installers. This supplies all the hot water requirements of the bathrooms within the hotel suites of the garages and cottages. The Q-ton uses the safe and highly efficient CO2 as a refrigerant, which is environmentally friendly as it is a natural gas and does not contain harmful ecological impacts compared to other products using standard refrigerants. The Q-ton also provides a constant hot water supply from 60°C to 90°C and on this specific site this is supplying 1500L of hot water with a hot water return system, guaranteeing instant hot water from outlets and decreasing the risk of legionella. We installed Uponor Ecoflex pre-insulated pipe between the new plant room and the garages/workshop refurb to supply these rooms with hot and hot return, the cold water was once again provided via Protectaline pipe.

All of the bathrooms across both areas were finished with luxury interior designer style sanitary ware consisting of “his & her” basins, free standing baths, walk-in showers, toilets and bidets.
