2Teck’s plumbing & heating division were asked to inspect and provide a condition report on an existing heating pressurisation and expansion vessel connected to a large heating system in a multi-tenancy building in Portsmouth.
Upon inspection it was found that both units were beyond economical repair and we recommended that they should be replaced at the earliest opportunity to avoid any potential breakdown scenarios. The building is populated by hundreds of employees and visitors so any issues would have a major impact.
A quote for the work was with the customer within 24 hours and, once signed off, our project manager and site supervisor liaised closely with the onsite facilities team to schedule the installation. We agreed that everything should take place over a weekend so that disruption could be minimised and the effect of no heating in the entire building, especially as it was winter time, would have limited impact.
Engineers were allocated and familiarised with the project requirements. All equipment required to complete the work was pre-ordered, delivered to site and checked to ensure that everything would proceed according to plan. The time spent planning and organising this project proved advantageous as the upgrade was a big success with no inconvenience to the client or their workforce. Due to the size of the building and the importance of heating during the winter months , 2Teck monitored the new installation closely before handing it over to the facilities team.
