Small World Vets opened a new surgery in Liphook, near Guildford and needed a total refurbishment and fit-out solution. 2Teck were appointed the main contractor for the entire project which included power & lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing & heating, fire and intruder alarm systems. As well as these services, the surgery required a reception & waiting area, operating theatres, dispensing and recovery area plus a new suspended ceiling all of which were designed and installed by our interior design and build partner.

New energy efficient LED lighting panels were integrated into the suspended ceiling with LED spot lighting to enhance illumination in the retail and other specific areas. Herschel infrared panel heaters, mounted in the ceiling, provided an unobtrusive and safe heat source in the theatre and recovery areas to ensure employees and pets were kept warm during surgery and rehabilitation.

To make areas easier to keep clean, electrical and data services were installed within plastic perimeter dado trunking. Network cabling was installed for the customer’s IT equipment and telephones, all cabled back to a new central network cabinet. Two UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) were connected to provide power back up and surge protection to the critical IT equipment.

To keep the areas cool in summer a Daikin air conditioning system was installed and the building was also equipped with a new ventilation system to keep everything smelling fresh.

2Teck engineers completed the cabling for the fire and intruder alarm systems which were then professionally commissioned by one of our specialist partners.

The customer had a 2Teck manager as single point of contact throughout the entire project which made everything much simpler to achieve and manage.
