Client: Axis House

Budget: 10k - £50k

The Communications division were tasked with providing a multitude of services to the two areas taken over by the client. We installed a new Cat 6 infrastructure to both the office areas and the clear room running back to two dedicated data cabinets. These were connected via 2No. 12 Core OM4 Fibres run in diverse routes to give the client resiliency across their network. Cables were installed to desk locations within the office space and to feed local points in the demo labs, as well as high level points for future WiFi to be installed.

We then added a networked Paxton Net2 access control system to both areas which was complete with the professional software. This not only acted as an additional level of security but has assisted the client in adding permissions to certain doors to restrict levels of access to authorised personnel only. This was interfaced to the fire alarm system to allow the power to the Maglocks to drop in the event of an alarm.

We also provided the client with a new video conferencing facility within their boardroom, installing a new 65” Samsung 4k screen with a Polystudio conferencing camera and a Barco Clickshare CX30 for wireless collaboration.

Adaptations and additions were made to the existing fire alarm system to suit the new layout. We maintained the use of the Hochiki protocol devices and added an aspirator system to the clean room to allow for free and easy detection and testing of the clean room without contaminating any of the specialist work being carried out by the client.
